Ancient Ways ensembles again bring the Shona marimba music from Zimbabwe to this incredible forest and garden setting. Not only will you find a large and wonderful variety of plants for sale, but also other local and regional artists share their work. Food and drink, music and relaxation, and lots of love for mothers of all ages.

Kufindura Marimba plays from 12:30 pm to 2 pm on May 8th. Come and join us as we bring together our three ensembles: Mufambo, Nhimbe, and Kufindura playing from 3:30 to closing. This is a free event!

4 Hours of Great Marimba Music!

An Ancient Ways ensemble, Kufindura, brings 4 hours of great marimba music from Zimbabwe to downtown Silverton on Saturday October 3rd as part of the Silverton Sidewalk Shindig Check this out!.  Please join us from 1 to 4 pm and again from 5 to 6 pm as these 7 musicians share the uplifting sweet music of the Shona people, complemented by a few original pieces. Ancient Ways playing the HOUR Exchange Summer Celebration 6/28

Find the Ancient Ways Community ensembles at Central Park in Corvallis from 1 to 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 28th, sharing the uplifting music from Zimbabwe! Both of the Corvallis classes will be playing. Nhimbe, the beginning class, and Mufambo, an intermediate class, are putting it together in the gazebo to beat the heat and celebrate the HOURS exchange, Benton County’s answer to the economy!

• May 2nd, 1:15 – 2 pm, Muti Marimba at LBCC One Vibe Diversity Day. Find us on West Way near the greenhouse…weather looks incredible…come and explore the campus in Albany!
• May 11th, Mother’s Day, Marimba Detembo and Muti Marimba share the stage from 12:30 – 2 pm, at The Thyme Garden in Alsea.
• Later on the 11th from 3:30 – 5 pm, Marimba Detembo and Mufambo Marimba finish the afternoon at the annual Mother’s Day celebration at Thyme Garden. Scrumptious food offerings, savory adult beverages, and unique gift booths add to the beautiful and bountiful nursery ambiance. Hope to see you there!

Performance Tonight!

Our small group will be performing at “A Little Wild at Heart” an Art Gallery Charity Event with Silent Auction featuring 60 art blocks of Corvallis resident Jennifer Lommers.  Jen is donating 40% of her profits to the Chintimini Wildlife Center.  It should be a great evening of art and music, benefiting a wonderful local organization.  The event takes place at The Drawing Board, 425 SW Madison Ave, Suite G, Corvallis, OR from 6-8 pm.  Music starts at 6:30.

Burgers for Books Fundraiser Sunday 8/25 12-2

“BURGERS FOR BOOKS” FUNDRAISER this Sunday 8/25/13 12-2PM at 35355 Eicher Rd, Albany OR 97322
Join us following the 10:45 am Gathering at The Shift when the Red Zebra Project will host a “Burgers for Books” barbeque fundraiser that will benefit a new books project in Zimbabwe through collaboration with Ancient Ways. The event will include:
• Live marimba music from Marimba Detembo
• Red Zebra cookie decorating and temporary tattoos for the kids
• Special appearance by Cosmas Magaya from Zimbabwe playing mbira
All donations will fund the new Red Zebra Project in Zimbabwe. Come and share food and festivities with us as we raise money to get Shona language books in the hands of the Zimbabwean children.
Also feel welcome to attend an informal tea party hosted by David & Hilary Ker of the Red Zebra Project on Sunday afternoon for those who would like a chance to meet Cosmas Magaya. Tea and coffee will be provided beginning at 3 pm. You can bring cakes, cookies or fruit if you like.
